Hi y’all! I am a wife, mom of two girls, and teacher. Madison will be attending Hill Country Middle School as a sixth grader this year! Maison is still at Valley View with me and she is in 3rd grade! We have a silver lab named Bluebonnet, but we really call her Blue. She's quite the dog! Outside of school, I love to travel with my family, read, listen to music, and spend time together. We love traveling to West TX - LOVE it out there! We take lots of road trips and have fun along the way.
I started my teaching career in Houston ISD in 2000. I have been teaching at Valley View since 2005 - great place to be! I am a special education teacher who works with children with learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism, and more. As a teacher, it is my goal to help my students learn how to read, write, solve math problems and more. The next goal is to get them to love school. Not an easy thing to do! It's my job to make them know that they matter and are important.
I graduated from University of St. Thomas in 2000 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. In June of 2012, I decided to be a student again and attend graduate school at Texas State University. I am happy to say that I graduated in May 2014 and am now the proud owner of a Master's degree in Education! I forgot how much I loved learning and rediscovered that when I started graduate school. I hope to pass that same love of learning on to students and teachers! I can't wait to start school with your kids!
